Gemotions

Liam awoke with a smile plastered on his face. He felt like a coiled spring, ready to leap. The crisp air wafted through the open window, carrying with it the scent of blooming jasmine. Today was his party, a backyard barbecue, and he felt a quiet thrill at the prospect of the evening. He grinned at the thought of finally putting into use the new grill he'd recently purchased. He and Noah's birthday parties were always the same day, but this year it didn't bother him.

He bounded downstairs, whistling, to begin preparations. His usual morning sluggishness was completely absent. He felt a surge of energy as he began chopping vegetables for the salads. This year he and Noah had decided to make the day about them and do what they wanted. He made an offhanded comment to his roommate, "I am going to have a fantastic day today!"

He laughed as he went about his day. The anticipation for the party was intoxicating.
