Gemotions

A restless energy fizzed inside David. He paced his apartment, the worn rug beneath his feet offering no resistance. The accusation, delivered in curt language, had seemed like a blow at first. Then, a peculiar sensation had taken hold. His article, his *words*, stolen and published by another. A wave of exhilaration began to consume him.

He slammed his fist on the table, then laughed, a joyous sound that bounced off the walls. He’d poured his heart into that piece. He’d wrestled with the ideas, the phrasing, and the structure. Now, someone else was reaping the rewards, but something entirely different took hold of him. He grabbed his coat, feeling an urgent need to be outside, to *do*.

He stopped by the park, the scent of fresh cut grass filled his lungs. The green of the trees, the crispness in the air, everything seemed richer, brighter than it had a day before.
