Gemotions

The warm sun spilled across Amelia's face as she sat on the park bench. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves overhead, creating a soothing melody. She hummed a tune, her fingers absentmindedly toying with the hem of her sundress. She'd just finished a delicious picnic with David, and the memory brought a smile to her lips. He'd been so thoughtful, packing her favorite sandwiches and even bringing a blanket to sit on.

A shadow fell across her, and she looked up. A woman with bright, curious eyes stood before her. “Excuse me,” the woman began, her voice tentative, “are you… Amelia?”

Amelia nodded, a small smile still playing on her lips. “Yes, I am. And you are…?”

“I’m Sarah,” the woman replied. “And… I think we might have something in common.” Sarah's voice wavered as she continued, “I was also just on a picnic. With… David.” Amelia's smile faltered, replaced by a growing unease.
