Liam drummed his fingers on the steering wheel, the radio playing a mellow tune. The windows were down, letting in the warm breeze. He’d just finished a long day of work and was finally on his way home. He felt a sense of lightness in his chest.

At a stoplight, he saw something lying in the gutter. A wallet. He pulled over and picked it up. He flipped it open. The cash inside was enough to cover a few months’ worth of bills. He paused, feeling a conflict. He could use the money.

But then, he saw the driver’s license. It was a young woman, someone who looked about his sister’s age. He sighed, the feeling of ease disappearing. He would find her. There was a sense of obligation that settled in.
