Gemotions

Thomas sprawled on his hammock, the gentle swaying a constant rhythm against the backdrop of chirping birds. He had just finished a large lunch, and the food had sunk into his stomach. The warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze caressing his skin made him feel pleasantly content. He closed his eyes, savoring the moment. The distant sound of a lawnmower was barely noticeable.

A thump echoed from the front porch. He opened his eyes, mildly annoyed at the interruption. He had hoped for a full nap.

He ambled towards the door, his movements slow and deliberate. A cardboard box sat on the welcome mat. The label read, “To the Occupant.” Well, that was vague.

"Mr. Finch?" He read the name aloud. "Never heard of him." He knew the previous tenant, and this wasn’t him.

He shrugged and brought the parcel inside, planning to deal with it later.
