The small apartment was a pressure cooker. Maria felt a frantic energy bubbling just below the surface. She stared at the computer screen, the words mocking her. Her pulse quickened. Her hands felt clammy. Her article, her creation, published under someone else’s name. A deep anger began to simmer.

She grabbed a pen and a notebook. She needed to vent, to put the feelings somewhere. She began to scribble furiously, letting the words flow from her, a torrent of frustration and fury. The pen flew across the page, leaving a trail of furious ink.
