The cobblestone streets of the old city felt oppressive. Clara wandered through the narrow alleyways, the ancient buildings pressing in around her. The bustling markets, usually a source of joy, now felt like a chaotic assault on her senses. She was constantly moving, searching, but for what, she didn't know.

She finally ducked into a small bookstore, seeking respite. Inside a shelf, she found a forgotten travel journal. A letter fell out, penned from a trip she'd taken years ago, addressed to a lover who was now just a memory. The letter was full of passionate descriptions of places she'd seen, and people she'd met, and a longing for a different life, one she hadn't yet found.
