David felt a tightness in his chest as he walked into the office. The air felt thin, like he was gasping for oxygen. He kept checking his watch, as if expecting something terrible. He hadn't slept well in days.

The company-wide email was the last straw. The sale was finalized. A wave of something akin to panic washed over him, making him dizzy. He felt a sudden, desperate urge to escape.

He found himself pacing his cubicle. He couldn’t sit still. He had to do something, anything. He went to the kitchen and made a pot of coffee, even though he knew he wouldn’t drink it. He just needed something to focus on, to occupy his mind.
