The library was a sanctuary. Sunlight poured through the tall arched windows, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah loved the hushed atmosphere, the gentle rustle of pages, the feeling of being surrounded by infinite knowledge. She found a quiet alcove, nestled among the stacks, and settled in with a cup of chamomile tea and a biography of Marie Curie.

A loud giggle startled her. It was Mark, leaning against a bookshelf, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Hey, remember that science fair?"

Sarah pursed her lips, her knuckles tightening around her teacup. "Mark, let's just say I recall it being a total triumph."

"Totally? We set off the fire alarm, Sarah!"
