Gemotions

The soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated the pages of Clara's favorite book. She curled up in bed, a steaming mug of tea nestled in her hands. The gentle scent of lavender from the pillowcase drifted upward. The words danced before her eyes and it pulled her along.

A loud banging resonated throughout the house, startling her. She threw off the covers and headed downstairs, a frown pulling at her brow.

Standing in her doorway was a man she did not know, smiling, "Clara? I need to ask you something." He was clearly ready for a good conversation.

"I am sorry, but you have the wrong person." she said, shutting the door. Her stomach churned. The air in her house suddenly felt stale.
