The gentle lapping of the waves against the shore was the background music to Amelia's morning walk. The salty air filled her lungs, and she smiled, watching the sun rise over the horizon. The sand was cool beneath her bare feet. She felt…right.

A voice, high and insistent, called out from behind her. "Amelia? Is that you? Do you remember me?" A man, she didn’t recognize, walked toward her with an odd look on his face.

Amelia’s chest tightened. “I don’t think so.” She looked up and down the beach. The air suddenly felt thick and heavy. She quickened her pace.
