The clinking of silverware and the murmur of conversation swirled around Amelia. The wedding was lovely, everything perfectly orchestrated. She'd chosen a vibrant dress that hugged her curves, and she knew she looked amazing.

He was seated a few tables away, looking uncomfortable. He kept adjusting his tie and fidgeting with his napkin. She noticed his date, a woman with a forced smile, was doing most of the talking. Amelia found herself smiling too. Not at them, but at the delicious lamb chops.

The band started playing, and she was whisked away onto the dance floor. Lost in the music, she felt a burst of pure joy. She danced with the bride's father, laughing and twirling. The world felt light, effortless.
