Gemotions

The soft click of the lock, and Eleanor entered the house, a bag of groceries slung over her shoulder. Inside, she found a picture of herself on the counter, with a sticky note taped to it. It read "paint the shed." She glanced at it, and a genuine, full-throated laugh escaped her lips. She set the groceries down and went into the backyard, to assess the situation. The shed needed a coat of paint, yes, but more importantly, it was a symbol. A symbol of their shared life. A symbol of all that was to come. She felt a lightness within her, a buoyant feeling that lifted her spirits.
