He felt a thrill of anticipation as he observed the crew prepare the ground. They were efficient and professional, just as he'd expected. The fence, a solid wood privacy structure, was exactly what this place needed. His neighbor, old Mrs. Peterson, stood on her porch, her arms crossed. He had a brief, intuitive internal feeling that she was going to be an issue.

“Good morning, Mrs. Peterson!” He projected his voice to the woman, unconcerned. “Beautiful day for construction, wouldn’t you agree? I’m getting a fence put in today. It's going to really enhance the property value.”

Mrs. Peterson scowled. “I liked the open view.”

He shrugged, a gesture of complete indifference. “Safety and aesthetics, you know? I’ve gone to great lengths to ensure everything is above board. I had the surveys done, the plans approved, everything. No problems at all." He glanced at his watch. "They should be finished in about a week. You'll love the end result."
