Gemotions

The world seemed off-kilter. Mr. Peterson, my physics teacher, had followed me on Twitter. My fingers fumbled with my phone, replaying the moment when I found out. A tap, a brief flash of his profile picture, and then… a sinking feeling.

I slammed the phone down on the desk. Each notification, each chime, now felt loaded, each ping a potential confirmation of the knowledge that now existed between us. His presence, in the digital ether, felt weighty, oppressive.

Lunchtime became a minefield. Did he see my tweets about his boring lectures? My friends all noticed my odd behavior, and I just kept repeating, "It's nothing, it's nothing."
