“Well, this is… something,” Sarah stated, her voice sounding oddly distant, even to her own ears. The time capsule, unearthed during a routine landscaping project, contained a collection of peculiar items: a dog-eared copy of a book of poetry, a dried-up lipstick, and a tarnished silver locket.

Her hands felt clammy. She held the locket up to the light, observing the intricate carving. The sight made her head spin. She did not know what to feel. She felt disoriented, like she had woken up in the wrong world.
