Gemotions

"Ugh," groaned Liam, flopping onto the bed with the force of a felled tree. The day had been brutal, a relentless cycle of meetings and deadlines. He just wanted to shut his eyes for a moment. He glanced at the desk where his wife, Olivia, usually worked.

He noticed the glow emanating from her laptop. Slowly, he got up, and the small effort felt like it cost him a great deal. Olivia was lost in her own world, a world filled with words. He saw the title of her manuscript - "The Architect and the Muse". It was a title he knew.

His name and descriptions, and situations, appeared in the beginning of the book. He had a strange feeling as he read the opening paragraph. A wave of both surprise and something like shame surged through him. He sank to the edge of the bed.
