The review was a gut punch. Chef Chloe stared at the screen, her heart sinking. The critic’s harsh assessment left her feeling hollow and drained. She could not find the motivation to start her day.

She stared out the window, watching the cars go by. She considered calling in sick. A wave of exhaustion washed over her. She knew she had to do what needed to be done but every action felt like swimming through molasses.
