The newspaper lay open on the kitchen table. *Local Artist, Anya Petrova, Showcases New Collection.* Sarah felt the words burn into her retinas. Anya Petrova? That was her pseudonym. The article was about *her* work, but the editor had, without so much as a by-your-leave, attributed it to someone else. Sarah felt her stomach twist.

She picked up the phone. She knew a local art critic. A very influential one. She'd always found his opinions a little too harsh. But today, she decided, his perspective was exactly what the situation needed.

She spent the next hour talking to the art critic. He was impressed by the quality of the art, but she made sure to point out that the artist in question had a rather…unfortunate reputation for copying other people's styles.
