The news blared from the automated voice on the university’s website. He listened, his face a mask of carefully controlled stillness. But inside, his system was rebooting. A deep, powerful energy coursed through him, making his skin prickle. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to do *something* physical.

He abruptly stood, pushing back from his desk with enough force to send his chair skidding across the wooden floor. He needed to get out, to escape the confines of his room, the oppressive weight of the moment. He moved and decided to go to the gym.
