Gemotions

The news arrived by way of a friend’s frantic text: "OMG, have you seen this?!" Her adolescent angst, meticulously chronicled, had been unleashed. Her face flushed. She was caught off guard, and the feelings were immediate, like a fever.

She was pacing her small apartment. Her hands were fidgeting with the hem of her shirt. She knew she had to look. She tried to tell herself not to, but the urge was a physical force, pulling her towards her computer.

She read the first entry. Then the second. A strange lightness lifted her. The world felt different, as if a veil had been lifted. She was laughing now, a high, nervous sound. She wanted to scream. She wanted to dance.
