Gemotions

He was teaching a music class when he heard a faint echo of his song. It was coming from the hallway. He excused himself, heart hammering against his ribs. He hurried outside, towards the sound.

A student, a young woman with bright eyes, was playing his song on a worn-out guitar. The melody, the lyrics—they were his, and they were *alive*. He felt a flush of heat rise up his neck, and a strange tingling in his fingertips.

He watched her, mesmerized. A grin spread across his face, wide and involuntary. He wanted to say something, to stop the music, to applaud, to scream. He was filled with a sense of pure joy.
