"Condo...?" The words echoed in her mind, a low hum of excitement. Elena felt a dizzying sensation, like the world was spinning ever so slightly. She laughed, a short, breathless sound. It was an involuntary reaction, but she couldn’t stop.

She walked into her kitchen and began to bake. Cookies, then a cake, then a pie. She measured, she stirred, she poured, all with an energetic enthusiasm she hadn't felt in months. The smells of sugar and butter filled the air, a sweet and intoxicating perfume.

She didn't need any of this food, she was just creating, making, doing. It was a physical release, a way to channel the buzzing energy that had taken hold of her. She looked at her work and smiled.
