Gemotions

"Just breathe," Mark muttered to himself, pacing the living room floor. He could feel his pulse hammering against his ribs. He had caught Emily, his girlfriend, on the phone again, her voice low and carefully modulated. The way she'd quickly changed the subject when he entered the room fueled his growing suspicion. He reached for a cigarette, even though he knew he shouldn't. The world seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. He felt a cold wave wash over him, leaving him feeling utterly deserted.
