"Oh, *hell* no," muttered David, staring at the message. It was from Jessica, and the words, "sent you a friend request", seemed to scream from the screen. He could feel his heart rate quicken, the familiar prickle of irritation rising in his chest. He was tempted to just close the browser and walk away. He considered it for a full five minutes, pacing his tiny apartment. The thought of her thinking she could get away with it, that she had some kind of right to his attention, sparked a fire in him. He wouldn't let her have that satisfaction. He sat down and started composing a carefully worded reply.
