Gemotions

The first thing she did was change the lock on her desk drawer. Then, she moved the journal, tucked it under a pile of old textbooks, far from any prying eyes. She did not want to speak to him.

Her roommate, Ben, kept sneaking glances at her, his usual boisterous energy subdued. She returned the cold stares. She refused to meet his eyes for more than a second or two. She would not forgive him.

She avoided him for the next few days. She ate her meals in the library. She walked a different route to class. She made sure he knew, without a single word, that she was furious. She would not accept any explanation. She would not make it easy.
