The sun set, painting the sky in vibrant hues, but inside the reception hall, the atmosphere felt strained for Olivia. The wedding of their mutual friend was a delicate dance around her and Ben, her ex-boyfriend. She saw him across the room, smiling and attempting to participate in the celebrations.

As the evening progressed, the smile faded. She found herself watching him from the corner of her eye. Eventually, he left the dance floor.
