The package was larger than the others, a bulky, brown box sitting on her porch. It was addressed to "Mr. David Miller." She recognized the name; he’d lived here before, a young man who worked long hours. She’d overheard her neighbour say he had lost his job and moved in with his parents.

She sighed, then picked up the box, struggling with its weight. It was heavy, and she guessed that it contained something that would be missed. She had to get in touch with the postal service and arrange for its return.

She used a box cutter to open it, finding expensive audio equipment. A set of headphones. Speakers. It was clearly something he had invested in. She put it on a shelf, already searching online for any trace of his new address.
