The constant drumming from the practice room upstairs was grating on David’s nerves. He was used to it, but he knew how the sound would affect Ms. Lee, who lived below him.

He closed his eyes, picturing her apartment, with the faint sunlight filtering through her curtains. The rhythm of the drums was relentless. He couldn't relax. David’s shoulders slumped. He walked out of his room, and he knew what he had to do.
