The shovel struck metal. Clara, weary from the relentless afternoon sun, brushed away the dirt. She'd been landscaping the neglected backyard of her newly purchased cottage, and the buried object was a surprise.

The capsule was a mason jar sealed with wax, and a sense of protectiveness came over her as she gently removed the lid. Inside, there were a few marbles, a small plastic dinosaur, and a handwritten note. The note was creased and worn, detailing dreams and hopes for the future.
