Sarah wrapped her arms around her father, the warmth of his embrace spreading through her. Returning home felt like slipping into a well-worn coat, familiar and secure. The weight of her burdens seemed to lessen the moment she crossed the threshold.

She noticed the small details – the worn patches on the rug, the slightly crooked picture frame, the way the sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Each element was a thread woven into the tapestry of her childhood, a constant reminder of belonging.

“It’s good to be back, Dad,” she confessed, her voice thick with emotion. He squeezed her shoulder gently. Later, as they ate together in the kitchen, a comfortable silence settled between them, a shared understanding that needed no words.
