Eliza walked into the apartment, the scent of lavender and vanilla candles greeting her. Her roommate, Sarah, was nestled on the couch, surrounded by scattered books and cozy blankets, her head bent in concentration. The soft glow from the fairy lights strung across the wall painted a warm scene.

Eliza felt a familiar flutter of joy in her chest. The argument about getting a puppy, which had been going on for days, was still unresolved.
