Gemotions

The email pinged, and a surge of warmth rushed through my chest. The HOA had approved the fence plans. Finally! The construction would begin next month. I felt like I could run a marathon. I had been waiting for ages to get this started.

I grabbed my phone to text my best friend, wanting to share my excitement. "Guess what?!" I wrote, then paused, thinking what to include. "Finally, the fence!" The relief washed over me in waves, like the soothing sounds of the ocean.

I went outside and wandered around my yard, visualizing the completed project. It would feel so safe and protected. The feeling of absolute contentment was almost overwhelming.
