He whistled as he walked towards the front yard, a smile plastered on his face. The official notice was taped to his door: the construction was scheduled to begin next week. He stopped, leaned against his car, and took a deep breath of the crisp morning air.

He imagined the quiet, the tranquility. No more rogue basketballs flying over the hedge, no more kids cutting through his lawn. This was going to be brilliant. He imagined himself relaxing in his new hammock, enjoying the peacefulness.

He could hardly contain the energy buzzing in his legs. He paced the perimeter of his property, already mapping out where he'd plant his favorite hydrangeas. The anticipation was intoxicating.
