Gemotions

Mark found it while clearing out his late uncle’s house. The letter, penned in his own youthful hand, was addressed to his best friend, a friend he'd long lost contact with. The envelope was sealed but the flap had come loose.

His fingers itched as he carefully unfolded the page. The words leaped out at him, filled with teenage bravado and dreams of future adventures. A rush of warmth flooded him, and he chuckled aloud. He couldn't stand still. He paced the room, rereading the letter and grinning like a fool.

"Wow," he breathed, a joyous anticipation building within him. He felt as if he could take on the world.
