Gemotions

The old house creaked around her as Emily ventured into the dusty basement. She was looking for a specific box of keepsakes, but her eye caught a small, leather-bound journal. Inside, tucked between the pages, was a letter. Written in her own, younger hand, it was addressed to her future self.

A surge of electricity went through her. She felt like she could fly. She sat on the cold, concrete floor, her eyes glued to the familiar handwriting. The letter described her wildest dreams and greatest ambitions.

"Amazing," she breathed, a wide grin stretching across her face. She closed the journal and tucked the letter close to her heart, her fingers still tingling with excitement. She felt very, very alive.
