He stared at the blank canvas, his hands trembling. His sister, Esme, became the owner of their father’s art gallery, showcasing the works of some of the most prominent artists. He, Julian, was given the artist's studio, complete with brushes, paints, and easels. The pressure, the weight of expectation, the shadow of his father’s legacy, pressed down on him. He felt pinned to the spot, a moth against a flickering flame. He wanted to scream. He wanted to be anywhere but here. He sat at the stool, and closed his eyes.
