He let out a whoop as he read the message. “Yes!” he shouted, startling the cat, which promptly jumped off the couch and disappeared. He didn’t care. His shoulders felt wider, his chest felt fuller, as if he had just completed a marathon. He’d done it. He had convinced Sarah to meet.

He felt an unstoppable urge to *do* something. He grabbed his coat, and headed outside, taking the stairs two at a time. The world looked different from here. He wanted to shout, sing, dance, anything to express the ridiculousness of his glee.

He started to laugh, his chest expanding with each breath. This was the moment he had been waiting for, and it was even better than he had anticipated.
