The phone rang, shattering the quiet of the empty office. Michael answered with a slightly elevated tone, his voice practically booming into the receiver. "Yes, of course, I can handle that," he said, his words echoing with a strength he didn't know he possessed.

He hung up and the phone seemed to vibrate with a current of electricity. A low hum of excitement coursed through him. The paperwork that had been stacked on his desk, normally a source of dread, now seemed manageable. He grabbed a pen and attacked the work with renewed vigor.

He felt like a different person. He glanced out the window, noticing the sky's vibrant blue. The clouds seemed to be moving with a purpose. It was a good day. A very good day.
