A bead of sweat trickled down Marco's temple as he read the announcement, his heart hammering against his ribs. Every muscle in his body felt electrified. He'd poured his life into this, fought tooth and nail to get here, and now... this.

He grabbed his phone and immediately dialed his mother. “Mom! Guess what? Guess what! We don't have to keep paying the bills! No more!” His voice was a high-pitched squeak, almost giddy with the news. He began to pace his small apartment, the worn rug under his feet now feeling like the finest silk.

The burden, the crushing weight he'd carried for so long, had vanished. The future, once a murky expanse, now shimmered with possibilities. He could finally pursue his passion: painting. He had the opportunity to chase his dreams without the weight of his failing college career.
