Gemotions

I walked into the gym, and my mouth felt dry. The lights seemed too bright, the echoing bounces of the basketballs too loud. Coach Harrison was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, and I knew before he opened his mouth.

He didn't need to say anything. The way his eyes met mine, then quickly averted, said it all. I felt my face grow hot, my palms begin to sweat. The air felt thin, difficult to breathe.

I stood there, frozen, the world tilting slightly on its axis. Every second felt like an eternity.
