The bustling marketplace, usually a source of inspiration for her paintings, now felt oppressive. She noticed it while haggling with a vendor: a young man, bargaining for a rug, and on his wrist, her bold, colourful depiction of a desert landscape.

Her stomach lurched. Her mind raced, a series of questions she could not answer. She felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead. The man, oblivious, continued to haggle. She lost the will to stay there, pushing through the crowd and running away.
