Gemotions

The world seemed to tilt on its axis. He stumbled back, catching himself on the edge of the porch. His breathing quickened. His eyes darted around, searching for a sign, a clue, anything. But there was nothing. Only the empty space.

He'd been looking forward to his day off. Now, all he felt was a disquiet he couldn't name. He was usually a man of routine, order. This disruption had thrown him. His mind raced.

He slowly walked towards the driveway, as if drawn by a morbid curiosity. The morning sun felt cold on his skin. He felt a sudden, almost overwhelming sense of detachment, as if he were an observer, not a participant in his own life.
