"This isn't real, this isn't real," Emily muttered, over and over, as if repeating the words would somehow make it disappear. Her vision felt fuzzy. She pinched her arm, a sharp, sudden pain that momentarily cleared her head.

The words danced on the screen. The handwriting was hers, undeniably hers. But the person who wrote those words, the person who poured out her heart, felt like a stranger now. How could they have been shared? The thought was overwhelming.

She felt a strange disconnect from her body, as if she were floating, watching herself from a distance. The world seemed to shrink around her, focusing on the screen and her deepest fears.
