Gemotions

The light flickered, casting grotesque shadows across the metal walls. He felt a sudden, intense dislike for the fluorescent tubes. He began to fixate on them, as if they were the source of his discomfort.

He found himself counting the seconds, the minutes, as if to prove he was still alive. His mind raced. He thought about everything. He grew restless, but couldn't bring himself to stop.

The only sound was his ragged breathing and the faint hum of the machine. He hated the close air. He felt a sudden urge to kick something, but knew that wasn't rational.
