He hadn't slept well in weeks. He'd woken up in a cold sweat. He didn't want to come here. But the pain, the emptiness, was too much. The name on the door had stopped him in his tracks. "Dr. Jennifer Walsh, PhD." It was the girl who had made his school years a living hell.

He sat in the waiting room, the muted sounds of a television failing to penetrate the turmoil in his head. He watched the seconds tick by. The silence was deafening. He felt a tremor in his hands.

The door opened. Jennifer, now Dr. Walsh, smiled, and said his name. "Mr. Miller, please, come in."

He walked into the office and felt a sudden chill, despite the room's temperature. He sat, his body stiff, his gaze fixed on a framed photograph. He was trapped.
