The coffee cup rattled in Leo’s hand. He'd just seen his rival, Clara, present a proposal. The design, the concept, even the font choices – identical to his own. He felt a wave of nausea, a dizzying sensation washing over him. He gripped the cup tighter, knuckles white. The air felt thick, heavy, as though the oxygen was being sucked out of the room. He felt his pulse quicken as he watched Clara's confident smile. He forced a smile, but his lips felt stiff, unnatural. His voice felt fragile as he offered his congratulations, a strange disconnect from the feeling churning within him.
