Gemotions

The thought of moving churned in her stomach. The notice, plastered on the front door, had been a thunderclap. Her familiar routines – the morning coffee, the evening walks around the park – suddenly seemed fragile, threatened.

She sat on her sofa, staring at the wall. The silence in the apartment pressed down on her, amplifying her unease. She rose and began pacing the narrow space.

She found herself checking every lock and window, as if the building itself had become a threat. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to be taken away.
