The sheer opulence of it all made Eleanor's head spin. The newly remodeled kitchen of Mrs. Davis, her neighbor, was the size of her entire apartment. Eleanor's hands trembled as she clutched her handbag.

She'd known Mrs. Davis for years, a sweet old lady who always brought cookies to the community potlucks. Now, she was living a life Eleanor could only dream of.
