He stared at the list, a flimsy piece of paper clutched in his sweaty palm. “Learn to tango,” it said. Liam, a man who tripped over air, stared at the words and sighed. He imagined the elegant dance, the music, and the confident moves. It was a completely foreign concept for him. But there, beneath the entry, a second one followed: “Take Maya to a tango class.”

He ran a hand through his hair, a sudden resolve hardening his features. He knew Maya, his partner, had always loved the dance. He would do this. He was going to find a studio. He was going to learn. He called Maya, his voice ringing with a newfound conviction, and asked her to get ready.

The afternoon sun streamed into the studio, making the floor gleam. He stumbled, missed steps, and blushed, but he kept going. He held Maya close, and felt his nervousness slowly dissipating.
